13 hour work day, such is the life of a process engineer on install day. Downed it with a filet mignon and a solid 9.2% local IPA.

13 hours? Haven't done that much since I was fracking.

Yep, production works 6-6 so I go in at 530. Had to stay to exPlain all the changes to the night crew and work through the stupid shit on this install.

Turns out the company who provided the equipment built faulty control panels but instead of proactively searching out who they shipped the bad batches to, they Waited for customers to install and test to find out. (See also: I spent my afternoon unbolting and figuring out a way to get shit to work to avoid unnecessary downtime)

A few of those 9.2's and you’ll forget all about the last 24 hours or so.

I have always had a higher tolerance, so I’m not sure I’ll get to that point. I have noticed as I get older that it’s more likely I will feel like shit in the morning though.

Wait until you get even older, when hangovers last for the better part of a week when you really get down.

I hope you aren’t salaried  because that would just be the pits. Or if you are that you are getting paid more than you think you should.

We make color pigments for a host of things. I’m the engineer for a color line and the final packaging/shipping. Pays good enough but the industry, work, and type of engineering in doing really isn’t what I’m into. Eventually I want to move to something more satisfying

Ah! I used to work at a factory that made the vinyl-acetate copolymer that’s used as a base for house paints. We’d sell to Behr, Valspar and Sherwin  -Williams. I wonder if they ever mixed our products together...

Wouldn’t be surprised if they did, or if ours got into a formulation for a company that provided stuff to those as well. Our product does go into roofing and siding
